I am a specialist recruitment consultant covering a wide range of positions under the Finance and Accounting (Commerce) sector particularly in the contracting space.
My general advice to all candidates would be that before you start your job search, ensure that your CV is updated and it highlights your key strengths and achievements. Before you go for any interviews, remember to research about the company (a good starting point would be the company's website), role, and the interviewer. During the interview, don't be afraid to ask questions about what the role entails, the company's culture and be sure to clarify any doubts you have.
My advice particularly to candidates who would like to undertake a contract / interim job would be to go for it! It would definitely be a very rewarding experience not just in terms of remuneration package but more so in terms of improving your marketability and gaining relevant work experience as opposed to waiting for the right permanent job.
I graduated from University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce where I majored in Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance and Investment Finance.
Before joining Morgan Mckinley, I was a tax consultant with Ernst and Young for 3.5 years.
