I’m a specialist in the IT&T industry with focus on growing the practice for Morgan McKinley. I focus on mid to senior leadership roles within Sales, Pre-Sales and Architecture.
Singapore landscape in terms of IT has changed phenomenally over the last few years. From being a back office of large MNC banks it is now turned into a sales hub for most of the organisations. IT back offices have drifted away from Singapore to low cost locations. The last couple of years have seen a dramatic spike in a number of businesses launching their sales offices across the island. IT/ Technology requirements have also modified with the changing trends and there is a huge requirement for Technical Sales candidates and the thin line between sales and technical sales in certain smaller organisations is diminishing. While Sales and Pre Sales remains an important function within the business, Project managers and Service delivery executives work with the business day in day out and are expected to pick up leads and do up-selling of new products or solutions accordingly. Technical candidates with excellent communication and presentation skills will be sought after, while on Sales side there is a demand for candidates with business development and relationship building skills.
I studied Computer Science and started off as a Technology Consultant, designing and developing a variety of complex standalone and web applications.
I was also responsible for building servers and networks for some of my clients during that period. I’ve been in the IT&T recruitment for over 10 years now and have managed large enterprise clients in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific. My experience with the US and European markets has been extensively focused on Temp or Contract hires, while in Asia/ Singapore I’ve been focusing primarily on permanent hires. Before joining Morgan McKinley, I’ve worked with large global recruitment consultancy to boutique executive search firms. My approach is very consultative and I act as a trusted advisor to my candidates and clients. I understand their specific needs and introduce candidates to clients accordingly. I also advice on the market trends within Asia and the challenges in recruiting and retaining top talent.
