Front Office Lawyer

Do you think that you have the ability to work in the front office of a bulge bracket bank dealing with the trading teams and also co- ordinate several middle office functions such as:
* Legal
* Compliance
* Credit
* Tax

This role works with the fixed income team of the bank and is integral in helping the business successfully acquiring new business. You will not only be setting up the correct infrastructure and co- ordinating the due diligence checks but also facing off to external parties.

Once the sales teams have identified a new client, your role will be to

• Carry out a needs analysis and develop a deep understanding of how and what they are going to want to trade and ensure that all of the internal requirements are subsequently met in terms of documentation and compliance.
• Assimilate all of the relevant information and manage the processes that are requisite to any new client being on- boarded
• Further manage the relationship with the client- being a primary point of contact for them and delivering a bespoke front end system for them to simplify their trading relationship with the bank
• Help to then cross sell other commercial opportunities of the bank by referring other trading teams/ business units to them with whom they are not already dealing.

The type of candidate my client is therefore looking for will be:

• Someone who has previously dealt with trading documentation, such as ISDA, GMRAs, etc. Whilst you will not be responsible for the drafting of this, you will need an understanding of the requirements so that you may better manage the expectations of the client and internal stakeholders.
• An assertive personality is important as you will be working in a fast paced environment.
• Desire to be pro- active is a must.
• Able to work cross functionally and deal with different business areas.
