Job Description

Our client is a renowned shipping company looking for a Finance Accountant-SM

Minimum Requirements:

• Accounting Degree
• CPA or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience
• shipping industry experience
• SG statutory compliance processes-GST, Payroll adminstration etc
• Accounts close and financial statement preparation in a complex environment
• oracle application of IFRS on group transactions
• advanced excel, microsoft office, power pointand word

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership tp the global ship management team
• Manage the complex accounting close ensuring all interfaces woth commercial systems are processedaccurately and produce monthlyaccounts ensuring reporting deadlines are met for the group requirements
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual fianancial statury reports together with the supporting information ensuring reporting deadlines are met for the group requirements
• Ensure all account balances are supported by detailes information at each month end
• Contribute to the external annual audit process to ensure smooth year end sign off for group
• Liaise with Global Finance Team on issues identified to ensure all items are resolved timely
• Analyse all routine accounting processes, particularly around the closing processes, and, in conjunction with colleagues globally, redesign global standards and implement changed processes
• Ensure Group accounting policies are applied to achieve consistency in reporting throughout the Group.

JOB PURPOSE:

• To oversee and control global Accounting including the timely and accurate production of AET Ship Management financial accounts
• Responsible for all Ship Management statutory reporting and compliance issues including tax
• Together with colleagues in the UK and US, to design and implement global standard accounting processes and controls
• To understand the ship management business and contribute value as part of their leadership team. To improve the business understanding of COA, and ensure compliance with business controls.
