SAP Infrastructure Architect (Salary Flexible)

Job Description

Our Client is a leading Global Manufatcuring Organisation. They employ over 15000 people and are present in over 20 countries. Due to a global SAP program they are seeking an exceptional SAP Infrastructure Architect.

The SAP Infrastructure Architect is accountable for the technical architecture, design, build and test of the IT Infrastructure required to support the SAP Program. The SAP Infrastructure
Architect is responsible for both the landscape strategy for SAP as well as the auxiliary enabling software technologies that support the work processes of the SAP organization as well as the business community.

This individual will have direct responsibility for ensuring that the solution is sustainable in a mission
critical production environment. The SAP Infrastructure Architect will be a key member of the SAP Architecture Office reporting to the Global SAP Technology Manager. In this position, the SAP Infrastructure Architect will need to work closely with both functional and technical leads to ensure the delivery of an integrated solution to the business.

Responsibilities

* Own the end-to-end design and build and sizing of the SAP landscape ensuring it fully meets the
SAP program requirements and overall architecture strategy as defined by the Global SAP
Technology Manager.
* Forward planning on hosting, networking and sandbox/development/QA/production environment
requirements for the SAP AMS and Deployment teams.
* Ensure infrastructure design has the appropriate levels of high-availability and disaster recovery
capability in line with business expectations for business critical systems.
* Establish and manage enabling technologies such as Solution Manager and Transport
Management solutions. Ensure that appropriate controls are in place to manage processes.
* Drive evaluation and selection of tools as well as managing a pragmatic long term roadmap for
how these tools will be utilized over time.
* Manage and develop a clear portal strategy with a clear roadmap for how portal will be utilized as
part of the solution set to the business.
* Manage third-party software integration with the core SAP platform. Create standards and
protocols for how integration will be handled and the technologies that will be used to support
integration.
* Network planning to determine load factors and ensuring network is appropriately scaled based on
business needs and deployment demands. Troubleshooting of network bottlenecks and ensuring
appropriate redundancies to manage network risks.
* Coordinate and work with the SAP Compliance team to ensure that system and data security
guidelines are adhered to in the design and set up of the SAP environment.
* Coordinate and work with the SAP AMS team to ensure that infrastructure solutions put in place
are appropriate and effectively used by the AMS team.
* Manage vendor partners in the delivery of infrastructure solutions often on a utility based contract
or in an outsourced environment.

Qualifications

* 10+ years of SAP technical experience with demonstrated technical competency in:
1. SAP landscape design and build
2. Infrastructure testing methodology problem identification
3. Virtual environment management
4. Disaster recovery management
5. SAP integration with middleware such as XI/PI.
6. Network management and design

* Project management experience and able to structure and scope a project and to manage a project
through to completion.
* Strong leadership, ownership and personal drive to solve problems. Team player and able to guide
and influence to achieve end goals.
* Experience with managing data warehouse/data mart is a positive
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Able to travel at least 20%.
