My Advice:Never judge an opportunity by a job description or a company by what you read in the news or hear from a friend. If you are open to a job move, be clear on the reasons why and what you are looking to achieve both short and long term. If a job is a stepping stone towards your ultimate goal then the only way to really understand the job and a company is by meeting the team and asking questions. Don’t be nervous about interviews and lose your personality. Remember, it’s a two way meeting and you are vetting the people and the organisation just as much as they are you. For the questions that are not appropriate to ask direct, be open with your recruiter and they will be able to find out for you. Be realistic with your expectations, both financially and of the opportunity and ensure you find the right balance between tenacity and flexibility.
Before moving in to recruitment in 2010, I gained 10 years experience in Financial Services in settlements and derivative sales. This knowledge, coupled with my consultative approach means I offer a superior service wining repeat business with clients and continuously gaining referrals. I recruited in to Financial Services in London before moving to Singapore in 2011, when I joined the Morgan McKinley Financial Services team.
